Product Description and Development
A collection of small wooden pieces inspired by symbols associated with Palestinian heritage and culture was developed. The development focused on transforming these symbols into simple, recognizable wooden forms that can be produced and replicated using the artisan’s existing craftsmanship and capabilities.
Collection Elements
Dove of Peace:
The dove was designed carrying an olive branch, combining the universal symbol of peace with the olive tree, an essential element of the Palestinian environment and heritage.
Fish:
The fish design reflects the connection to the sea and coastal environment, representing an aspect of Palestine’s geographical diversity.
Camel:
The camel represents patience and endurance and is connected to the Bedouin heritage that forms an important part of Palestinian culture.
The pieces were designed to be produced as keychains and souvenir magnets, taking into consideration their size, portability, and ease of use. This approach allows Palestinian heritage symbols to be presented through practical products suitable for gifts and souvenirs, while enabling them to be produced and replicated as a cohesive collection.
